Hanging out with the sunshine

The sun is finally out and the weather has temporarily warmed up. I am such a happy camper I can't even begin to tell you how much of a difference that makes to my overall sanity.

How do you make a beautiful day at the park even better? You share it with some friends!

We met Leo and Becca at the park today and I snapped some photos while the kiddos ate a snack.

Leo: So Maddy, I hear you've never had fruit snacks?
Maddy: It's true... what are they?

Leo: They are really good, especially those green ones right there.

Maddy: Wow, Leo! You were right. These are yummy! Mmmm.

Leo: Is that your mom with the camera in our face?

Maddy: Mooooom!? Can't a girl have any privacy?

We had a great time!

Our friends Mike and Becca had there second baby two months ago. Another in a long line of boyfriends for Ms. Madelou.

My friend Jodie* photographed him yesterday.

I'll let the photos speak for themselves. I can't be blamed if you want a baby (either a first, second or even fifth) after looking at these photos though. Newborn baby's have very powerful magic. They make you forget all about the sleepless nights and crying fits (from the baby and the new mommy... what? that didn't happen to you? Liar.)

My First...

KISS!!!

Man babies are moving fast these days! So this is the post I promised a few posts ago. These photos were taken at Madeline's first birthday party, but I couldn't just lump them in with the party photos! They needed to have their own post to do them justice.

Technically they had their first kiss two weeks ago at Leo's first birthday celebration. But I didn't have my camera. So this time I made sure we got the photographic proof. (That way we can remind them of this day for years to come ensuring that our parental duty of chronic embarrassment is fulfilled.)

Happy Birthday Leo!

Madeline's buddy Leo celebrated his 1st birthday yesterday! I can hardly believe these babies are a year old! (Only two short weeks until Madeline is one!?!) We were thrilled to be a part of the celebration with Leo!

Leo was giving Madeline kisses all through the party. And Madeline just wanted to play with all of Leo's new toys!

Oh those boys!

Madeline had her first play date with Steven today. (Steven is the son of my former SLU classmate Amy, and one of Madeline's many boyfriends.) Although their time together was brief, I think they had a great time checking each other out.

These babies are on totally conflicting schedules, when Steven sleeps, Maddy's awake. When Maddy sleeps, Steven's awake. It makes play dates difficult to schedule for us moms! We had a great time none the less. Thanks for a wonderful afternoon Steven and Amy! We will do this again very soon!

Congratuations Aaron and Jenny!

Kevin's friends had their baby this week!!! His name is Quinten and he is absolutely adorable!! (According to Mom and Dad!) Mom and baby are both doing well. We will have to plan a trip to Ohio so that Maddy can meet her newest (boy)friend!

My First...

FAMILY CAMP!!!






Leo and I played with toys on the floor.













I even got to hold his hand. As you I can see I was happier about this than Leo!










John joined in on family Olympics with a mad game of Crochet.




















Cheryl and Rachel decorated their family camp reunion patches!













Uncle Elliot even had a pie eating contest, with himself. I think he lost.

After dinner we relaxed on the deck. Carolyn and Leo played a flying game. I just lounged with Grandpa!

Supervised Visitation

Ethan came over for a visit again this weekend. Both moms and dads were present to make sure there wasn't any funny business. They did get to hold hands however. Man these kids start young.

On Tuesday Maddy had lunch with Steven too. She is playing the field and not letting any one boy tie her down. Leo is still in the running, and dad's co-worker just found out he is having a boy too. She has quite a list to choose from!
