Hangin' out with my poppa!

Auntie O

My Auntie Olivia came to visit me this weekend. She just got back from India. She brought me a statue of Ganesh. Frankly, it just looks like an elephant in drag to me! But what do I know. I am just a three month old.

Our own version of little Ms. Piggy

Say hello to our little Piglet.

So we haven't been the best at posting this month. By the time I get home from work, it is time for dinner, finishing a few little things around the house, putting Maddy to bed and then crashing ourselves. All to do it again the next day. I will be so happy when this week is over and I no longer have to go into the office. Not that this year and some hasn't taught me anything, but I am glad to be moving on to the next phase of our life. Maddy needs me, and I am more than happy to be able to be there for her.

We must thank her many babysitters for this past month. We couldn't have held it together without Grandma Sue and Grandpa Bruce, or Granny Molly and Poppy Gene. Thanks so much!

Let's just hope I can stay busy enough to not get board. It will be an adventure that is for sure!

Holly-Jolly in July?

So today is July 25th, and KEZK is playing Christmas music all day long to promote a fundraiser for the St. Louis Area Food Bank. (Hunger isn't a seasonal problem don't you know!) Although I wasn't a huge Christmas fan, being married to a certified Christmas fanatic has changed my tune over the years. Kevin's excitement for the holiday season is truly contagious... and he is in the best mood he has been in at work in a very long time today. I think mainly because of the holiday tunes issuing from his radio.

So I am listening to the holiday melodys myself. All I can think about is how awesome this Christmas is going be now that we have Maddy. I know she won't know the difference, being only 7 months old in December, but I know that Kevin will be so much more excited this year. For the first time, ever, I can't wait until Christmas rolls around!

Not just my feet that are dragging...

So today has, without a doubt, been the slowest day ever. It seemed like before I knew it the clock had turned to 11am. Since then the moments have ticked by with a little less energy and a little more drag.

Maybe it is the fact that I am leaving this job in just two weeks from today, or that I am distracted by thoughts of my daughter, or that the work I am doing has me #1 totally stressed out and #2 totally pissed off. All I know is that it is 4:30pm and the moments are still just creeping along. I can not wait to get home to my beautiful daughter, and hansome husband. Only 37 more mintues to go.

Come on!

She's a yankee doodle dandy...

Although she was not born on the fourth of July she did turn two months old on the Fourth. There were fireworks and everything in celebration. Maddy slept through them, Mom and Dad watched them from Maddy's bedroom window. Not a very exciting 4th of July for us this year. We did go to lunch at Grandma and Grandpa's as seen above. We had dinner at Granny and Poppo's too. It was a nice day, and she seemed to enjoy herself.

Happy two months Maddy!

This too shall pass.

So my mother's comment on the previous post got me thinkin'. Life is full of things that pass. Life is a series of moments that come and go before you know it. I don't want to take any of these moments for granted, nor do I want to waste them being unhappy. My life has changed dramatically and I only hope that people understand that any choice I make now is firmly grounded in my desire not to waste any of my moments.

I am going to go play with my daughter.

This stinks...

Thanks for a wonderful first eight weeks Maddy. I am going to miss you tomorrow when I am back at the office, but know that I always love you no matter where we are. I will be home soon and we can laugh and play together. Love, Mommy
